I'm using this version as part of our church project to read the bible in 90 days. The NIRV language captures the "feel" of the simplicity of the Bible in a satisfying way. Also, after this first, detailed reading, I plan to re-read it utilizing the "narrative" sections only - great idea for gaining the big picture!

I work with youths incarcerated in the juvenile system, many of them have 3-5 grade reading skills, after carefully reviewing 15 difference translations of the Bible, the NIrV is by far the easiest to read and unterstand. Jesus said the word of the Father shall be spoken such that a child can understand and believe. In English the NIrV is that version. I use it myself.

It seems these Bibles are great. I have bought 30 in alkl for the church but without changing my address I cannot it seems order any more. I have been trying for a week to order another 20. It seems they are so great they don't want any one to buy them
